Cheese Making Workshop – Saturday, November 11th at 11am

Admission price includes lecture, workshop, tour and farm  brunch.

Product Description

We have reformatted our cheese class to help you understand the details in making cheese. It is a complete workshop that includes each step of making various cheeses such as; farm cheese, chevre, cheddar, brie and mozzarella. There is no time to get bored. This particular class is focused on the chemistry and artisan steps of making cheese. The class is a workshop focused on the magic of transforming milk into cheese. During class you will enjoy a farm prepared lunch and refreshments.

Farm Cheese Classes Include:

Making Mozzarella, Cheese Curds

and chevre/ goat cheese / cream cheese / cheddar / brie



Cheese Making

  • Inoculating the milk
  • Curding the cheese
  • Hooping Cheese
  • Draining Cheese
  • Stretching Mozzarella

 

Class Schedule:

11am – reception and introduction, start with lunch

11:15am – inoculate pasteurized milk to start the cheddar

11:20am – 20 min lecture about the process of making cheese

11:40am – Workshop begins with making farm cheese

12:15pm – put rennet in for cheese curds

12:30pm – Take a tour of the farm

1pm  – Particpants will work through goat cheese making process

1:15pm – curd cheddar cheese and stir

also curd farm cheese and hoop cheese.

1:45pm – Introduction to making mozzarella

2 to 3pm finish up making brie, farm cheese, cheese curds and mozzarella.

3 to 4pm cuddle with baby goats.

Please read our terms and conditions as we want you to make an informed decision about visiting our farm and when you get there we want your experience to be positive and joyful. Your email receipt will serve as your admission ticket. Please keep a copy of your receipt on your phone or print out a copy. Our system will also put you on our admission guest list.

**Definition of a child: Age 4 through 18. Ages 3 and younger are free. Ages 18 and up are adult prices.

**Directions to the farm: Please download.

*** Event is weather dependent and road condition dependent. This is not refundable if you decide to cancel or not attend or if mother nature forces us to cancel. However, we will allow you to reschedule. You may reschedule to another date, and we always schedule more dates to accommodate weather conditions. Tickets are not transferable. Please dress according and in layers. Please wear enclosed shoes. Opened toed shoes maybe denied access to the farm without a refund.

****We ask that everyone be respectful of the staff and our farm. We can not tolerate any untoward behavior or safety risk. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. If we find that someone cannot obey the rules, they will be escorted off the property without a refund.

*****The weather can vary on the farm. Please bring sunscreen, a hat and bottled water. We do provide some shade coverage during the event. Please dress accordingly and bring a jacket just in case.

*****Bring a cooler and ice packs to keep your purchased cheeses cool on the the way home.

******Please do not bring any animals in your car as our guard animals may attack your car. Bringing animals to the farm is grounds to denying access to the farm and we will not refund your ticket.

*****Most of all please read our rules and regulations under terms and conditions. This is available as you check out just before you “proceed to check out.” You will also find here a link to farm directions which you may download and print out..

****Please be careful while on the farm. The ground is uneven. Some fences have sharp objects and are barbed. Some of the animals may accidently bite your fingers if you feed them your fingers. Normally the animals are gentle and not aggressive. Guard dogs are friendly to people but not pets that they are unfamiliar with. There is a water lagoon on the farm that we need to stay away from.  This is a working farm that we try to make as a safe as possible for our guests as we enjoy inviting people to the farm. Please do not go into any buildings unless you are invited. Most of all we hope you have a joyful fun experience.
