Who does not like cheese and chocolate?
Who does not like cheese and chocolate? The thought of pairing the two together can be a mind blowing contrast.
When you actually think about it, the two rich foods have many similarities. Both decadent foods can be described in numerous ways: rich, creamery, salty, pungent, biter or buttery. Some even say that cheese or chocolate can have a grassy, spicy or nutty quality about them.
We believe these qualities of both cheese and chocolate make them an excellent subject for pairing. In fact we are not the only ones, there are many foodies who have taken the pairing of the two to new heights.
We are about to embark on a similar journey here at The Old Windmill Dairy. We have invited a local Chocolatier to help us pair five of his decadent chocolates with five of our most popular cheeses.
Come to our Mother’s Day Celebration as we pair dark chocolate morsels made with sea salt, decadent truffles, milk chocolate bites, our award winning Sandia Sunrise Gouda, McIntosh, Valles Verde Triple Cream Brie, Buttery Cheddar and some of our favorite delights.
To keep it light and fresh we will be offering some fresh made artisan bread and freshly made Mozzarella to revive your palate in between our suggested pairings. Participants will learn how to stretch fresh mozzarella. We hope to see you there.
